How Pilates can help..


Karen worked with the Senior squad at Bath Rugby - Her remit was to help make the players more robust by improving stability and movements patterns. The aim was to reduce injuries as well as improving performance. Karen put in a lot of time and effort assessing the specific needs of the individual players relative both to the sport, the position played and the postures and movement patterns of that individual. She then implemented a Pilates programme with the players, either in a one on one or one on two session. I believe that Karen's input helped to improve the players athletic performance as well as reducing their injury risk and I would have no hesitation in recommending her to others wishing to improve their athletic performance.

I began working with Karen after getting referred to her. I am an elite rower on the World class START programme, training at Bath university and have had a serious injury to my back. I was slowly giving up on hope, that I was going to able to return back to rowing, after missing my second summer of racing, however after seeing Karen for the first time I new that my journey was going to continue. We focus on function movement and linking it into rowing, with a huge emphasis on core stability. Along with her positive outlook and continuing support she has enabled me to progress more in the last two months than I have been able to in a year and a half. She’s a miracle worker!

Karen's work with our son, who is an elite swimmer and a member of the performance squad at Bath University, has been invaluable.
